Consistent bullets

Does anyone have a foolproof method of getting consistent bullet positioning across multiple browsers (esp. IE6/7 and FF2) when having to apply a specified margin-left on a UL element for positioning reasons? Just now, either the padding/margin is way too big, and I can see discs in all browsers, or it's right, but I can only see the discs in FF2.

Use IE only stylesheets, via conditional comments, to override the FF settings.

I've done that for IE6, but I surely shouldn't need to for IE7 too?

I've found that they both generally have the same bullet positioning quirks and so one separate sheet for both should cover it.

You could perhaps try using a reset stylesheet such as Eric Meyers, to start from a level playing field
