Has anybody used google checkout yet?

What are your thoughts on it?

I'm looking at implementing a couple of custom php sites with it and wondered what you thought before going ahead.

After going through the masses of documentation on the google checkout system, and spending approx. 1 day trying to figure it all out.. i realised the system isn't for me!

What I wanted was to completely keep the buyer on my site, and not have to know about google or any payment processor.

I'm currently going through the paypal payments pro thing now. Hopefully when I get that setup (their sandbox site aint letting me sign up just yet) i'll be able to get running with this new app.

i think i hate google checkout it was ok-ish to install but you cant use the api unless you have a cert as you hsve to use https so everything opens in a new window which is horrible. then to annoy te hell out of me hen using it that way it doesnt pass the postage info.

apart from that the actual paypent screens etc are near on identical to paypal. you have to log into google or signup though which againn is rubbish!
