Virus or Not ??

I've got AVG paid on my machine and it's up to date and says no viruses. Out of curiosity I ran F Secure online virus scan which found one in my BThelp files called cpe.exe .. now I also scanned that file online with Kapersky and it says it's not a virus !!

anyone come across this or know an easy way to resolve if needed ?

Ask BT if it's a legitimate part of their software. Seems that a few people who get it flagged by their AV are using the BT Home Hub; seems logical that it could possibly be something to do with that, with it getting falsely flagged as malicious by F Secure.

think that's a plan .... I;ve scanned with three online scanners now plus my AVG and F secure is the only one that picks it up .. will check with BT

Do F Secure have an email address you can send it to for confirmation?

you'll probably get an answer quicker than by messing around with support forms. from what i've seen on a few other forums regarding this, i'd be surprised if it wasn't a false positive.
