Just followed a htaccess tutorial and it works but it makes people enter the user name and password twice for some reason .. any idea what might cause that ?

Also ... I need to do it on a site I don't host and don't have the full path to the file .. is there a way to find this out without contacting the hosts ?

It's always funny until someone gets hurt and then it's just hilarious

I don't mean to sound cold, cruel or vicious but I am so that's the way it comes out

Are you entering domain.com and then ending up at www.domain.com? I've had to enter it in twice in the past when the domain redirects, and thus needs to revalidate the user
