is rubbish. Periodically it decides to not open when you launch it. Reboots etc do not fix. Downloading and installing over the top used to fix, but not today - I can't load it at all. Sad I get the nag screen, then the process dies after clicking the continue button.

Any suggestions for usable alternatives - ideally that could import my smartFTP bookmarks?

TIA

I had that problem a couple of weeks when it told me I needed to upgrade. In the end uninstalling completely and then reinstalling a fresh download of the new version worked.

Hey, Ive had EXACTLY the same problems!

I thought it was just my b0rked XP install that was to blame.

Completely removing, then reinstalling worked for me in the end.

This went yesterday on me. I've just (in the last 10 minutes) uninstalled SmartFTP first and then installed the latest version from http://www.smartftp.com/get/SFTPMSI.exe and it's back fine again. I did back up my favourites folder (under application data -> smart ftp) but it doesn't overwrite it anyway.

He speaks sense, used Filezilla for ages and never had a single problem.

I've uninstalled, reinstalled as suggested and all is well. I do think that filezilla looks a likely replacement candidate as I have had this on and off for the last 2 years - and it's a big pain in the bum when working to deadlines etc.

Ta for all the input smile
