Spent the afternoon out on the beach and then by the mersey taking photos. Some are on Flickr but these were (in my opinion) the best ones. First time out with my tripod and first real attempt at nightshots on the new camera (yes the second is wonky. I couldn't get the tripod straight at first)

I really like the last one wink

If you haven't any other photo manipulation software then Picasa is a good program with an easy straightening tool. It takes no time at all smile

I've got Photoshop which I could easily straighten it in but I didn't worry about it too much. Because of the angle it wouldn't really have been straight anyway (just a bit straighter).

The last one is my favourite too smile

Nice one Sarah. I've got a few shots of the lighthouse myself. Also tried the city scape shots but without any success, not is your case. The last one is the best.

You should try taking some of the new echo arena, I was there tonight and here is my attempt:

Cheers Britman, and your photo is fantastic. I've seen the blue lights from that building across the water. We were planning to go to Liverpool last week however didn't due to the lousy weather, so will hopefully get there one day this coming week. With the dark setting in so early there's plenty of time for night shots too. Will see what I can get then.

Cheers Tony. I didn't think of them as overexposed but on more thought I can see what you mean. I like the blue colour in the second but i guess we all know the Mersey isn't that blue wink  This was my other clearest shot of the Liver Building. Any better?

To be honest the highest res looks better as it's clearer. Maybe I should do some cropping.

Nice one Sarah. Those blue lights around the top, did you clone them in or where they switched on?
I should have cloned in more lights on my shot.
Did you happen to take a picture of the car park to the left of the arena? It's not pretty but the lighting might make for a different picture.

Thanks smile No image editing besides the converting from raw. Perhaps it was because that was taken soon after 5pm on a week day, maybe all the lights are on then?  I didn't take a pic of the carpark as such, I panned around and started going for the light trails instead, then we hit the Albert Dock:

I will now have that song in my head all night! wink
