A serious one.

Is there any evidence that states the PS2 interface is on it's way out as more and more keyboard/mice manufacturers opt for USB?

New machines still come with PS2 sockets but it wouldn't surprise me if they did phase it out. It's not like PS2 is used for anything else and most mice and keyboards are USB even fi they come with a PS2 adapter.

Older BIOSes not natively supporting USB keyboards would be the main sticking point I could think of.

My new Dell machine also has no PS2 port, which means I am currently stuck with the USB Keyboard and Mouse that shipped with it. Funny thing is, the wired mouse actually feels more responsive than my M$ Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, which I can use as it utilises PS2.

Can anyone recommend a USB Wireless Keyboard and Mouse set up as I do prefer the wireless option, but feel I need a more upto date one.

I use a Logitech combo - a wired keyboard but a wireless mouse.

The mouse is a MediaPlay one with lots of buttons for music apps - the keyboard is errr pretty standard!

I use a logitech combo too - wireless keyboard, but with a lazer m1000 instead of the mouse that came with it. Very nice and responsive mouse.

TBH, I can't remember the last time I saw or used a PS2 mouse or keyboard.  It must be over a year.  I'd say it was on the way out.

Funnily enough, Logitech here also.  They do make some excellent stuff.  G15 keyboard and I think I'll be replacing my Raptor M2 with a Logitech soon - the Raptor would be a very nice mouse, but the build quality has turned out to be poor.

Looks like Logitech is the favourite so far. I will have a look into the models and see what would be an ideal replacement for my M$ Elite Combo.
