Hey-ho.

Doing the research for my final year project at Uni, and I'm going to be building a visualisation tool for websites.  Part of my research will be looking at existing programs, such as Astra SiteManager* and WebTracer2.  I'd obviously like to reproduce screenshots of these programs in my report - is that fair use?  Do I need to contact the program owners for permission.  At least one program is discontinued.

Cheers

*I had this on a .net disc years back, but like a complete eejit when I cleared out all the .net CDs I didn't use, I appear to have gotten rid of this one too.  Damn.  Probably still got the mag for a rummage on eBay.

We do what we must because we can
For the good of all of us, except the ones who are dead.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake
You just keep on trying 'til you run out of cake
And the science gets done, and you make a neat gun
For the people who are still alive

I think it's fair use if it's for review or educational purposes AFAIK.
