Left or Right

Which is the preferred method of displaying a menu on a web site. I tend to find that more and more are appearing on the right hand side of a page. I think I am a dress to the left man, but is there a right or wrong ?

Not really. It depends on the design I guess. Personally I associate a left menu with a standard site/business site and a right menu with a blog.

I guess with standard convention of reading form the left that the more "accepted" style would be on the left hand side. Although a few sites I have seen with nav on the right haven't looked out of place, strangely enough.....
I think it all depends on the general layout of the page as a whole.
