Couple of photos. I'm trying to avoid posting the obvious stuff really, but the Mirage I couldn't resist - this is a 6 second exposure I was quite pleased with - works better at bigger sizes, but you get the idea. We went to see Cirque de Soliel's "Love" - well worth it - excellent show.

On the way to Vegas we drove through Death Valley - this sign was literally in the middle of nowhere - 30 miles along a dirt/sand track, with another 30 to go before we got to a "road" again - inside a huge 10 mile diameter bowl that was essentially a massive crater, full of angry dust storms and this sign - that was it. This is all before we actually got to Death Valley proper - pretty cool.

Sam,

Would you recommend a visit to Death Valley? We're off to Vegas and LA at the end of November and thought about detouring via DV to have a look.

it's a big detour, especially from LA to Vegas (or the other way around). There's stuff worth seeing though - so yes, I guess I would if it's not too inconvenient, and you can handle the milage.

Nice pics Sam.

Did you have a flutter in Vegas ?  I'd be interested in hearing what you thought of the place smile

I'm not one to gamble seriously. I thought it was a bizarre, odd place - but fun all the same. I should have wasted more money on the tables tbh, but I was being deliberately cautious. If you're an accomplished card player, Nevada is your nirvana.

Anyway, I came away from the tables with more than I went with, but only just, and we're talking tiny amounts of dough here - more for the experience than the money.
