I'll add a few more images over the coming days as I get a chance to review them. This is El Capitan, in the evening "golden hour". I do have some HDRs to make up, but this is just a straight shot - a bit dark in the middle, but this is a quick test from a JPEG - I have a RAW version of this too that might suffer some exposure compensation to recover the central area...
Anyway, Yosemite Valley - a totally awe-inspiring place. The sheer scale of the rock faces is unbelievable.

This is "Valley View" - which includes El Capitan as you can see. This was taken with my little Sony DSC-T7 - pretty fab camera for the size of it - ideal to take anywhere and everywhere. I'm pretty pleased with the result of this - it's actually wider than I had available on my DSLR. I did look at getting an ultra-wide lens, but for once my wallet felt the strings tightening.

If this perks your interest, and you're not already familiar with him, check out
Ansel Adams. There are other great photographers who have created famous/well known/lesser known masterpieces from the landscape of Yosemite, but Ansel Adams is one of the better known - well worth a look. I've had calendars/yearbooks from his official estate each year for the last 14 years or so since an ex-girlfriend introduced me to his work.
