any imaginative suggestions for lighting bonfires?

Thoughts so far
lit bow and arrow Dukes of Hazard style
petrol bomb
spitting a mouth ful of meths over a flame
a flaming toy aeroplane
hiring a flame thrower
a long fuse into petrol

Setting light to the hair of a passing American and then telling them there's a 2lb burger hidden in the middle of the bonfire which they can eat if they're quick.

Drive a stake in to the ground and surround with news paper tie some string round the post and run to a point ensuring a slight downward gradient in to the stake and ensure the string is nice and tight.

place more newsapaper around the area and poar plenty of petrol over the paper.

Start placing wood aound the newspaper taking care not to affect the string in any way

Use more petrol over the wood.

Pile more wood up to appropriate size for the space - again ensuring that the string is not impeded.

Obtain one cardboard bog roll tube and cut one side.

Find a good sized rocket (You probably know where I am going here)

Put bog roll round string and rocket and secure using sticky tape.

The rocket MUST be easy to slide along the string a downward gradiant is preferable. The string needs to be tight

When all is ready retire to far end of the string with the rocket and light the fuse -Rocket goes along the string and explodes in the heart of the pile igniting the petrol and one instant fire big grin

I did this many years ago with some friends and it was great - Probably more by good luck than judgement it helps if you have had a few Stellas when lighting the rocket  banana

So am I. I'll even come round and flick the switch for you as long as you're at the other end holding the can.

I did suggest tipping it on it's end and building the fire around it, I was half serious. The clutch went on my pick up the other night too. 2 cars buggered in the space of a week, I should have bought that alfasud.
