I've been so impressed with the new iMac - time to take the plunge ;¬) I'll also be installing Ubuntu on it. Just because. Might even run it at the same time as Leopard

Oooh, nice. I switched 2.5 years ago (Mac Mini), mostly thanks to Jee and his gentle persuasion Never regretted a moment of it, infact I added a gorgeous classic iMac G3 to my collection earlier this year - and now the iPod touch. What's money anyway? Sam

Well I've ordered my copy. Now that Bootcamp is part of OSX I could even install Windows and Ubuntu just to keep Jason happy. No doubt both would run better than on a PC anyway

Just ordered my 20in iMac with Leopard from the Apple Store. I don't know if the reseller in Newcastle was going to be open from 6pm this evening otherwise I could have gone there. But, it ships in 24hrs anyway so not long to wait - and I dunno, there's something rather exciting about seeing those old brown UPS vans pull up outside the house aswell Sam

Well I'm speaking to you from my iMac now powered by Leopard.
The upgrade was, quite frankly, the easiest upgrade of an operating system I've ever done!
As a precaution I did make a complete backup before I did anything else but then it was simply a case of:
1. Put disc in & double click on the Install icon 2. Click reboot 3. Select destination drive 4. Wait for it to install 5. Reboot
Soooo simple.
Where there any problems?
Only one minor one. When the system rebooted after Leopard had installed it was running very slow. This is something I had experienced before when I installed a bunch of fonts just after I bought the Mac. Sure enough the Mac brought up an alert saying that there was a conflict on one font. Launch Font Book, click Resolve Conflicts and that's that fixed.
I havent checked all programs yet but all the important ones like Photoshop, Aperture, Firefox, Office etc are all working fine.

My new 20" iMac arrived today. I installed Leopard straight off then migrated my apps/files/user accounts across from the Mac Mini afterwards which took around half an hour. I'm looking forward to having a good look around but I'm already loving the coverflow feature in Finder. Got lots of new things to play with. I may not leave the home office for days Sam
